Seek, Trust, and Thank God!

Have you ever wondered why God allows trials into your life?  Last year I posted about worrying about money (http://foodandgladness.com/gladness/2012/11/13/so-faithful).  At the time I thought I was supposed to be learning about God's faithfulness {which I did} and growing in my relationship with Him {which I'm continuing to do}, but now I realize that He may have put that burden on me so I can share it.  My husband and I received a handwritten letter yesterday from our neighbors who are in jeopardy of losing their home due to a medical disability.  They were asking for informational resources (churches or charities) who might be able to help them.  I feel for them and wished we had the monetary resources to help.  But, I know of one resource that is greater than gold...God!  I've been through money trials, not to the extreme of losing a home, but in which stretched my faith and made me feel like I was leaping off a cliff waiting for God to catch me.  And He did! He provided for me then and still does!  I can share this experience with them and let God do the rest.

Three things came to my mind when standing in the midst of a trial: Seek God, Trust God, and Thank God!

"  Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always."  1 Chron 16:11

" Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding". Proverbs 3:5

" I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds."   Psalm 9:1
