"Keep on loving one another as brother and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers..." Hebrews 13:1-2
Friday night a severe thunderstorm and tornadoes hit various counties in the St. Louis area. Some homes were completely devastated, and others untouched. Although our home was safe and intact, my husband and I were out of power for 2 and a half days. About 2 miles away from us, high winds knocked over power lines and uprooted 6 to 7 ft diameter trees which landed on cars and crashed into homes. Mike and I checked on a 90 year old friend from church who lives in that neighborhood. She was shaken up, but God protected her though the storm. It was heartwarming to see the whole neighborhood rallying together. Although they were not blood related, they checked on one another, helped clear trees and debris, borrowed cell phones when their batteries ran out, brought each other coffee. Mike and I are thankful that God was able to use us in a small way to help her in her time of need.
I want to extend a special thanks to my sister and her family for their hospitality to Mike and myself during our time of need during the power outage! Love you!
