I noticed the most amazing thing in my backyard this past week. One of my iris' that I cut back in late summer began to bloom again. I guess with the warm days of Fall, the flower wanted to bask in the sun one more time. I have never had an iris bloom twice in a year before, so I think that is pretty spectacular. But, what is even more stunning is that this second bloom is pure white while the first flowers were robed in royal purple.
Isn't that just like God. He can transform something beautiful into something more breathtaking. This reminded me of the verse , " In the past we thought as the world thinks, but we no longer think that way. Once we belong to Christ, we become a new creation. The old things have gone; everything is made new! God makes peace between the world and Himself through Christ. God doesn't hold the world guilty of its sins, but give us a message of peace. Jesus took on all of our sins so that we can be right with God." (2 Corinthians 5: 16-21 paraphrased NCV).
Wow, isn't grace amazing! Through God's grace, our old selves can be tossed aside and we can be made new. I'm so thankful for that!
