Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!  I believe most of us associate Valentine's day with flowers, cards, boxes of chocolate candy, hearts, and cupid, but did you know it commemorates a love worth dying for?   Saint Valentine was a Roman priest.  He was martyred around 496 AD because he tried to convert the Roman Emperor, Claudius II, from paganism to Christianity.  Legend reports, while incarcerated and awaiting his execution, Valentine performed a miracle by healing the blind daughter (Julia) of his jailer (Asterius).  Asterius' 44 member family all came to believe in Jesus and were baptized!  The night before Valentine's execution, he wrote a card to Julia and signed it, " Your Valentine".  This practice of sending cards as an expression of love and friendship has carried over to modern times.

This is a wonderful time to remember who the greatest love of all times is... Jesus!  When you know Him, you will never be alone or not loved.  Tell your Valentine {God} just how much you love Him today!
