God Gives Good Food

I enjoyed the most wonderful treat yesterday, I headed to downtown St. Louis to meet Mike for lunch at Sauce on the Side and then toured his new office in the Cupples building.  First let's talk about lunch.  Wow, these gourmet calzones are outstanding!  I ordered the "Figgy Piggy" which was stuffed with bacon, figs, caramelized onions, and two cheeses {shown above} and Mike ordered "Fatty-B" which contained pepperoni, spicy meatballs, onions, and cheese.  YUM!  They are large enough to share, but we decided we wanted enough to take home for later.  With warm weather approaching, you should make plans to visit City Park then walk over to Sauce on the Side for lunch.

Now let me tell you a little about Mike's new office.  Revco, the company where Mike works, shares space with Osborn-Barr in the Cupples building off of Spruce.  The decor has a modern rustic feel.  The walls have exposed brick and they use recycled grain elevators or barn doors as room partitions.  Scattered along two floors are antique farming equipment and wooden carts with large iron wheels.  They also sought out local farmer's to stock the lunch room with fruits.  Very cool!

God is so good to us by supplying us food and giving us unique talents; how can I not thank Him?  Here's a few lines from Psalm 104 {verses 1, 14, 15, 24, 27, 28, 35}  which confirms that thought.

"Lord my God, you are very great. You make grass for the cattle and vegetables for the people.  You make food grow from the earth.  You give us wine that makes happy hearts and olive oil that makes our faces shine.  You give bread that gives us strength.  Lord, you have made all things; with your wisdom you made them all.  All things depend on you to give them food at the right time.  When you give it to them, they gather it up.  When you open your hands, they are filled with good food.  Praise the Lord!"
