My favorite flower, the peony, started blooming in my yard last week. In March, I begin to ponder about when the delicate flowers may arrive. I always hope that they appear by my birthday, at the end of April, but winter's cold bite delayed their coming this year.
I'm not sure what I enjoy more about these flowers, it's fragrance or the ethereal petals. I love how this particular variety has splashes of hot pink. A little bit of glam on an otherwise pure white canvas.
Once the peony blooms arrive, I wish for them to continue all the way through the end of Summer. I get so disappointed seeing the flowers wither and fall. What about you? Do you have something that you wish would last forever? Don't worry, God does has something that will last through every season, His word. "The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the Word of our God endures forever." Isaiah 40:8
I hope you make time to see and smell the flowers and enjoy all of God's creations.
