Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

I find it truly amazing that Jesus stepped down from his throne in heaven and humbled himself to be born in a manger and become our Emmanuel {God with us}.  On the night of his birth, the angels sung and stars glimmered.  He was visited by two vastly different social groups: the wealthy and intelligent magi as well as the working lower class shepherds.  But, both groups had the same reaction when meeting Jesus; praise and worship.

"When the wise men saw the star, they were filled with joy; they bowed down and worshiped him" (Matt 2:10,11).

"That night, some shepherds were in the fields, then an angel of the Lord stood before them.  "Do not be afraid.  I am bringing you good news that will be a great joy to all people.  Today your Savior was born; he is Christ, the Lord.  So the shepherds went quickly and found the baby in the manger.  The shepherds praised God, thanking Him for everything they had seen and heard" (Luke 2: 8-20 paraphrased).

God sent His one and only Son to be with us, regardless of our nationality, education level, or bank account.  We all need Jesus.  Thank goodness Jesus is willing to meet all of our needs by extending His gift of grace and love to us.  I pray that you accept his gift this Christmas!
